We’re thrilled to introduce the PatchBird Initiative—an exciting global effort that unites bird enthusiasts, citizen scientists, and conservationists to monitor bird populations like never before. Building on the powerful tools and community of eBird, this initiative takes bird monitoring to the next level by combining structured data collection with precision mapping using a 1×1 km UTM grid system. Together, we’re unlocking vital insights that will inform and advance bird conservation for years to come.

This is your chance to make a real difference. Whether you're an experienced birder or just getting started, your observations matter. By contributing just 15 minutes of your time per survey, you help build a detailed picture of bird populations across diverse landscapes. With every bird recorded and every grid surveyed, we take another step toward protecting the habitats these species depend on.

Get involved, explore nature, and be part of something truly meaningful. Together, we can amplify the power of eBird and help secure a brighter future for birds worldwide.

Let’s make every observation count!
